Broadway actors, show staff warn of possible strike CHICAGO — Actors and stage managers were outside of Nederlander Theater Wednesday, handing out leaflets to people attending that night's showing of Jagged Little Pill.On those leaflets, warnings of the possibility of a strike among more than 50,000 members touring in Broadway shows across the United States.Members in the Actors' Equity Association have been working without a contract since Feb. 5, the last collective bargaining agreement negotiated for the group being in 2019."If you’re out to see a show, you’re not thinking about the working conditions," said Leah Morrow, a member of the AEA. 'Aurora's Sunrise' shines light on Armenian Genocide survivor's journey to Hollywood "Aurora's Sunrise" is an internationally animated documentary about Aurora Mardiganian.It's a true story about how a 14-year-old girl escaped death during the Armenian Genocide, fled to New York and became a silent film star. "Aurora's story is one of the rare ones," said Inna Sahakyan, the film's director. The story becomes vivid again through the dynamic combination of mediums, animation, archival interviews with Aurora herself, and digitally restored footage.Back in 2014, Sahakyan was doing research for a different project at the Zoryan Institute in Canada when she stumbled upon Aurora's testimony recorded in 1984 when she was 84 years old.
